South London Bowling Club members were delighted that we ended the season top of the Wimbledon and District Division 1 Midweek League.
Our team also won the Ron Willson Triples Cup at the New Surrey League finals on Sunday 21st September.

July 25th 2025 was a very special day for the club as we hosted a team from Bowls England for a Celebration Match for our 125th anniversary. A closely fought match on the green was followed by an enjoyable opportunity to eat, drink and spend time with bowlers from all over England. We would like to thank everyone who made this possible – and the Bowls England bowlers for making it such a memorable occasion!

April 23rd was a very special day for the club as we welcomed a team from the Royal Hospital Chelsea. 
The team was piped in to the club resplendent in their scarlet uniforms before a close match took place. Everyone enjoyed the day and it will remain long in the memory….
The season at South London Bowling Club is well underway. The club welcomes new members and social members – and will hire out rinks when the green is not in use by members. Club nights are Wednesdays and Fridays from 6pm. Please use the contact form if you would like to come along…
South London Bowling Club will be celebrating its 125th year in 2025 with a range of events lined up… Founded in 1900 by Tom Robertson – the club has a long and illustrious history – and continues to thrive today!
We will be hosting special matches against the Royal Hospital Chelsea, Bowls Surrey and the Hurlingham Club – as well as a very special celebration match against Bowls England in July – alongside our league and competitive games.

We welcome those who wish to hire a rink or two this summer to have a roll up or game with friends. Often called ‘barefoot bowls’ – we’d rather like you to wear flat soled shoes – but it is a great way to spend a summer afternoon or evening!
We can offer rinks on most Wednesday or Friday evenings when we are open for club nights from around 6pm. We can also offer rinks on some weekday afternoons by arrangement. Our bar will be open and you can enjoy a drink while playing. We are fully booked on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

If you’ve always wanted to give it a go – why not come along and have a game. We offer the opportunity to play by lending you a set of bowls and offering advice. All you need are flat soled shoes.

South London Bowling Club had a very successful season in 2023! Firstly, our Men’s Triples team were are the Wimbledon and District League champions with the Men’s Fours Team runners up.
In the Leagues, we won the Wimbledon and District Midweek Triples League Division 2 earning promotion to Division 1. At the weekends we won the New Surrey League Triples and came second in the Wimbledon and District Fours. Well done to all involved and we look forward to the competitions in 2024!
