The South London Bowling Club has a history of hosting parties and socials. Our modern clubhouse with bar and kitchen facilities makes it ideal for a get together.

Hiring a rink or ‘barefoot bowls’ 2025

We welcome social bowlers to the club who would like to give bowls a go, or play with their friends or colleagues.  Availability of the green is arranged around matches that the club members play, and the availability of volunteer club members to host.

We ask you to pre-book via the contact form on the website.  If you could give the following information that would be helpful:

Number of bowlers (adults, children)

Date you would like to play and time you would like to start

Costs

Our rates are £8 per person per session which includes hire of bowls, use of the green and usually our very reasonably priced bar will be open.

For functions at times when we are not normally open we have a minimum charge that we apply.

Times

We hope to be open from Easter weekend until mid September 2025.

Up to the 18^th May we can be open on any day but must be pre-booked.

From 19^th May to the 10^th August the green is pre-booked from 6pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Wednesday and Friday are club nights when club bowlers will be present.  We welcome social bowlers and a number of rinks can be booked.

Opening is subject to having a club member present.

Other Info

Up to 8 people can play per rink.

We have bowls available in a number of sizes.

We can show you how to bowl, and set you up in a game format if required.

Bowlers MUST wear flat, smooth soled shoes on the green.

Food can be brought but as we have a bar we do not allow BYO alcoholic drinks.

Filming

The club can also be used for filming with a large clubhouse and bar. Please enquire for availability and rates.
